    Default Coosa River Report

Went to Coosa yesterday and had my best trip this fall. Im sure I caught over 40 that were 10 inches and bigger. My biggest was 1lb. 12 oz. My livewell began getting too crowded and I began culling out the 10 inchers. I had 3 out of 4 rods at one time with fish in boat. Its been a long time since I have seen Crappie this agreesive. I was bottombumping minnows over structure in 15 ft. of water. Water temp ranged 61-63 degrees. I fished from 8-3 and the bite was still ongoing when I ran out of minnows and it began to sprinkle rain. I had a friend call me about 11 and figured I was fishing today and wanted a mess of fish. He agreed to come down to ramp and I gave him my catch. Normally when I am bottombumping structure I will pick up 1-3 Quality fish on my first pass but today I had 2-3 fish on each pass. What a day! This old man was worn out at end of day. One I want forget. I feel several factors were favorable yesterday. Front slowly moving in-61-63 water temp-water was down 3.8 ft.-little wind-falling barometer-bait fish have moved deeper- fish holding at 15 ft. on and near structure but want bait moving slowly. Once I got my boat loaded and started home I took time to eat my Lunch I had in boat all day. Good Fishing All Bottombumper
