Default My kingdom for a cricket

I was at "The Pond" today been there about 3 or 4 hours, I used worms, fished on the bottom, on the top, in the middle, different distances, etc. well I caught some microgills, a few minigills, and one keeper, hey it was 5 inches I swear, anyway, A guy comes walking toward me, he had just got there, ask me if i was having any luck, i said not really, they just ain't biting today, must be the wind and a 58 degree temp, just a miserable day. I proudly show him my only keeper and he disappears down the path about 15 to 20 feet from me, about 15 minutes later i holler at him, "how's it going, ain't biting are they?" he says "naw not really, only caught about 6 or 7 so far", I'm thinking, what the hell. So ya know i gotta see what he's doing right and what i'm doing wrong, he's fishing a foot deep with #4 tru turn and a cricket, when he cast, i swear it looked like a school of Pirahna attacking . Well it's supposed to be nice tomorrow, and i'm gonna have a pocket full of crickets, and hopefully a better story !
Hey, catchin' fish is easy, finding thems the hard part.

Been fishing the last couple weeks down on Ocmulgee river just downstream from Jackson Lake dam...theres one particular place where the river comes in to the bank hard and makes a calm culvert and with polarized glasses you can see a billion beds. A tube of crickets...fished on a small long shanked cricket hook about 12-15 inches under a small, quarter sized round weighted float...caught about 40 in an hour 20 of which were keepers at 6-8 inches with a couple 10 inches in the mix.
