headed to blcksher for 3 dayes camping and fishing with my brothers and sister and their spouses . need a fishing report frome some one .where and how to fish .

anyone ben to blacksher .need a report on where and how to fish. wil lnot have time to scout them out . would like my brothers and sisters to catch some fish .

I need some help putting my Dad on a few fish. I am very new to crappie.com, but I have learned a great deal. Also, I have met a few good folks.

I will also be fishing Blackshear on Friday morning. I would like to catch a few crappie, but bluegill eats just about the same. I think I can find a few little cats, but a panfish would be more desirable.

Help a new guy out. I moved here recently from Indiana. We fished quite a bit up there and Dad is coming down to visit this weekend.

I am ashamed I haven't been on B'shear in a while. I wonder how much debris and mud will be in the lake after all the rains we had North of the lake. They maybe pulling a good bit of water too. If I was going Friday, I would probably start in the southern end since it gets muddy later than the rest of the lake. As for the bream and catfish, I got no idea where to start this time of year.

Would Sinclair be a better bet? I don't care where we go; I am just "fishing" for some advice.

BabySam.....I'd go to Sinclair after all the heavy rain that we've had. I've had excellent luck this time of year longlining on Sinclair. Look for brushpiles in 15 to 20 feet of water in any of the bigger coves around the Crooked Creek or Sandy Run area of the lake.

OK. This may show my technical knowledge of crappie fishing. But if long lining is trolling, I am not totally set up for it yet, yet!

We are simple minnow, tight line fishermen. Sometimes, I shoot a dock.

Also, I have only been to Sinclair once. I went with a feller that taught me to shoot docks. Wow! That was a good time. So, where is the world is Crooked Creek and Sandy Run area?

No matter what, thank you for everyone’s help and knowledge. I am ALWAYS willing to hear pointers and simple how-to information. I am not a prideful person when it comes to teaching and sharing information/knowledge. The more data I gather the better my chances will be, I reckon…

BabySam........I feel strongly that minnows will work, maybe even better than long-lining if the fish are fairly tight on the brushpiles. All I do is pretty much long-line, that's why I use this technique. Locate trash in 15 to 20 FOW and there should be some fish close by.........Crooked Creek and Sandy Run are toward the upper end of the river closest to Lake Oconee. You should be able to find it on any map. I feel like if you fish an area of the lake that you are familiar with, you should have good luck as well. The crappie really relate to structure this time of year until the water gets cool enough to spread them and the baitfish out. Please let us know how you do.
