Default Minn Kota Power Drive Tip

I have a 4 yr. old Minn Kota Power Drive that began hard to turn right with control switch. I would have to hit it hard to get it to turn right but turned left great. Took Control switch apart to check and the contacts were not making contact when I pressed to the right. I ran a finger-nail file between the contacts and re-assembled but still had same problem. I re-opened and looked for some adjustment to bring the contacts closer. No adjustments. The Printed Circuit Board is held down by 2 screws and some type of flexible glue. I loosened the screws and cut a piece of thin plastic strip [fish hook plastic box] and slid underneath the board and tightened down screws and re -assembled. Works great. Tip on re-asembling with the springs, slide a toothpick between spring and housing to hold in place and turn over and attach spring in place. Turn back over and pull out toothpicks with need nose pliers. Now go Fishing. BB

Sorry about your old controls Ridgerunner. Do you still have them? If so you could try this and plug up and try. You could have a back up. Someone sent me a PM about this repair and I replyed but I was having problems posting and not sure he got my reply. Cant find any record of his PM or my reply in my message box. If you read this post please send another PM and I will reply with additional info. Sorry about the mix-up. BB
