I'd get an early start to make sure I didnt have so far to walk once I parked the truck.:D I fished Clark Hill Friday and only caught 15 fish, but most of 'em came early. You'd think the afternoon bite woulda been better as the loake wormed up a little but it didnt work that way for me Friday.
21 FEB `10 Best fishing times today. 5:00 AM to 7:00 am 10:45 AM 12:15 PM-and 5:15 to 7:15 PM. The excellent times today are early morning and late evening.
Bite today was better from 3-5 PM, but I expect that to change when we get some warm nights

Friday the bite was best in the PM but Saturday the AM.
i reserve getting up early for deer and duck hunting so I would'nt have any idea about the morning bite. I piddled around the mouth of sweetwater and marked what appeared to be a lot of fish saturday pm but could'nt get but one small dink to bite. Water temps were about 41 - 43 and were colder than a week earlier? I put out a few condo's which will hopefully help later on? Anyone know how long it will take for them to become worth fishing over?
Saturday was the first day of great weather in a long time and there were lots of bass fisherman on the lake. I did see a few crappie fisherman,,,a red lund and another small aluminum boat slow trolling w/ a child and his partner working fields landing area.
I finally got my trolling motor installed (minn kota 101 lb thrust) and working and it will at least hold my position if not propel the boat at least 1 mph. The remote control is wonderful! Using the remote control and the gps to keep in the river channel feels almost like cheating. I can't wait to get that structure scan installed and working but i need to pull the boat out of the water to do it correctly. I'm still trying to figure out where to permanently mount my battery bank and charger (36 volt). right now i have them laying on the deck and i temporarily rig them up w/ jumper cables. So far i'm thrilled w/ the 36 volt system and have run 3 days and not killed the batteries yet.
I got out Sunday for about 2 hours and did pretty well in the mouth of Little River pulling dark colored kalin jigs in 10 fow. The white bass and small stripers keep things hopping, I came home with 14 crappie, three nice 14 and 15 in white crappie thats a real treat for me on Allatoona.
Thinking I had em pegged I went back Monday, in the rain, pulled the same jigs over the same gps track at the same speed all day One Fish!!
