Hello everyone. This is my first post on this forum. I came across it about a month ago and find it very useful for the information it provides. I fish for most all types of game fish here in Georgia but usually am keying on a particular species each time I go. I mostly fish Sinclair, Oconee and West Point. I live in Kathleen, work in Byron and am a lifelong resident of Houston County. I have been reading the post concerning the 10" limit on crappie and really can't make up my mind on which way to be. I remember in the late 60's you could catch 2 lb+ crappie on Eufaula every time you went and would love to see those days again. But,I really do not want to see anymore length or slot limits handed down by the state unless they are uniform for the entire state. For example, Lake Oconee has a slot limit for largemouth bass, 10"-14", Lake Sinclair is 12" and above. If you fish both lakes the same day, which I often do depending on which way the water is going, this can cause a problem if you are checked by the DNR. Long story. Also, I have to keep some of the dinks for my mother(86) who likes them "scaled and gutted, not filleted". Let me pass on this website for those of you who do not already know about it, Georgia Lake Levels. When you get to the site, go to the toolbar on the left under "Current Weather" and click on "Rivers /Lakes", then click on your desired lake on the map. It will give a current lake level. It will give you a good idea of which way the water is going if you fish Sinclair and Oconee. henpkd1
