trolling motor on pontoon, transducer?
Ok, I got rid of my fish n ski boat and got me a new fishing boat. I got a 30ft suntracker party hut that i am going to outfit for some serious nightstalking and crappie fishing (as well as other things). I really need a trolling motor on the front of the boat to help me guide this ship into my slip at the dock. I am also trying to figure out where to mount my humminbird GPS/fishfinder console as well as the transducer? I have 2 batteries in the back w/ some type of plugin charging system that you can switch between the two. I am wondering if I should leave them along and put another couple up in the front in the seats to work the motor and depthfinder? Someone said that i would get a better reading on the fish if i put the transducer in the front of the boat off the side of one of the pontoons?
there is no good place to mount the hummingbird console. I may need to farbricate a bracket so i can mount it to the support pole for the roof, so that i can swivel it for viewing from the front of the boat. I could mount it on a pole sticking out of the console that could turn around but i'm thinking that would not look to good? I can't believe humminbird does not have anymore kinds of mounting brackets than their standard one. I have not been able to find anything yet and have started looking at cellphone mounting brackets that might work. All feed back on the electrical system, trolling motor size, mounting, console mounting would be appreciated.
