hey JDavid... I don't know if you saw in the sales paper but you can pay 34.94 for the rod or you can pay 39.98 and get one of the crappie deluxe baitcasters with it as a combo. It might not be the best reel, but for the price it can't hurt to give 'em a try!!! :D
