Yep had a 99 75 hp ( same motor different size carbs) for 8 years, changed the plugs 3 times because I wanted to and that's it. No trouble. Got 08 90,no trouble. Good motors that haul the mail. My boat 19" runs close to 50 with it.

Has anyone had any experience with these motors and what is your opinion of them?

Tima and I are taking a Nitro out this afternoon that has a 90 Mercury on it. Supposed to be at Smoak Bridge ramp at 4:30.
May ride over.
Those are solid motors ...You wont be disappointed...Be sure to do a compression check on all cylinders (130 psi) or close is good![]()
I run a 04 mercury (50) on my triton now and have not had a bit of problem from it
I also ran early 90's modle mercury (90) on another boat and had no problem with it eather
I know that a short block on one is 3200 to replace them.
FISH-ON!!!!!
mercury is the fastest motor on the water.
the older mercurays wer rated different.that is why they wer faster.
retired and now i will always fish
