Been watching for a local sweet 16 for years. But I need to find one that the person has no clue what they have. No luck so far. Also been looking for a mid 70's Mossberg 500 in 16ga.

i had a sweet 16 pump my dad gave me when i was 17 and it was not new then i am now 70 .last i her the sweet 16 was hanging in a drug store in Ashburn Ga . the druggist is a gun collector and would not sell it . i have a old bolt action 12 guage from sears roebuck . it is warn out just a wall hanger.may not be worth much unless some one was collecting them .
My first gun I ever bought was a Browning A5 in 1978. I had just got out of high school and I saved my money and bought it at Franklin's in Athens. I still have that shotgun and it has never jammed or let me down. I still shoot doves with it. It has been a great shotgun.
I have a Remington 870 Wingmaster 16 ga. Its a great shotgun for squirrels and such, but shells are hard to find, thankfully I bought a MEC shotgun reloader years ago.
I have 1100s in 12(3), 20, 28, & 410. Before cataracts, I did pretty goodopening day of dove season. I load my own shells and was killing birds at 40+ yards. I was shocked to hit them that far away.
I have a Versa Max I use for duck, geese, and pheasant.
FYI, if ya'll are having a hard time with a shotgun, it probably needs to be fitted to your particular arm, neck, weight, and head. I have had a gunsmith near Eatonton fit all of mine. It makes a huge difference. Off the shelf shotguns are made for a person 5' 9" and 160-170#. So unless you are an instinct shooter, you will more than likely have trouble.
My $.02
I have a Sweet 16 my Dad gave me purchased in the mid 60's new. It has a 26 inch vent rib barrel perfect for quail. Mint condition and priceless. I found a used one at Chuck's in ok condition for around $1900 several years ago.
Chuck will be glad to take it off your hands. That gun was great at bushwacking those dove
