This is so sad. You are so right Smitty about how much Diamond Jim contributed towards the Slabfest. We will all surely miss his 'mater hush puppies and his great friendship. We send our condolences to his family.

He died march 21, 2012 of cancer. They buried him on the day of the get together http://www.mcmullenfuneralhome.com/f...74&fh_id=11896
You old timers will remember him from Slabfest @ West point, Harding and blackshear.. not much I can say but he was a great fella and love those Slabfest. He never fished at one but always brought and did more than his part..His wife just told me and she didn't have my cell number or I would have got the news on here sooner...He used to come sit with me on Sundays @ my produce stand and eat peanuts and talk fishing..Remember his wife's tomato hushpuppies??

I was telling someone at the Get Together at Blackshear about Diamond Jim and his wife's tomato hushpuppies and was wondering why he wasn't there..Sad to hear about his passing...RIP Jim.
Sorry to hear that! Found a picture of him cleaning fish at the March 09 Slabfest on West Point.
He was always there with a helping hand.
