Default Anyone know a campground along west border(GA/AL)?

I'm west of Atlanta right now, looking to maybe spend a couple days at a campground (maybe more if they got a weekly rate). Don't need anything fancy, electric is a plus, but has to have large/deep or pull-through sites. Waterfront would be a plus, but not a requirement. Would like to find something around $20/night (less is even better).

I'm also looking for anyone who metal detects (or knows someone who does) that might be interested in takin' a Hoosier out detecting. Shoot me a PM if interested.

    Thanks!

You might want to check out the Alamba State Campground just North of Eufaula, Al. I haven't been there for a while but it was/is considered to be a real nice camp located on one of the feeder creeks to Lake Walter F. Geroge aka to the locals as Lake Eufalul.

Lakepoint is the one on the AL side north of Eufaula, AL. Nice place with cabins or campground across the highway. Also, on GA side is Florence which is farther north on the Chattahoochee. Several more on Eufaula on both sides south of Eufaula. West Point has several camp grounds as well as the north end of Harding. Check out Georgia Power Parks and AL State Parks.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! They give me some places to check-out. Lakeview looks interesting, and they have a monthly rate that seems pretty reasonable. Would anyone happen to know how the Verizon cell signal is there (I use it for internet)?

    Thanks again!

Not sure about Blanton Creek service but I usually have service at West Point & Eufaula.

Setting at Lakeview as I type Thumbs Up Nice place. I paid for a couple days, may stay the month. Not sure if I want to commit to a place that long. I like it though....I'm in the Barbour (sp?) Loop. Total of 5 of us here.

Thanks again for the suggestion! If any of you guys are down this way, I'm on #60, stop in & say hey.
