    Default Pontoon Advise

I bought an 18 ft bass buggy with a bad 60hp tracker motor ,it lost a cylinder.I have found a 25hp Johnson long shaft motor .With gas at 3.50 a gallon the 25 looks good. How fast will the 25 push the 18 ft pontoon ? Some one must have one to fish the restricted lakes like Lake Juliette .
Thanks for any info or advise you may have to give .

i have a 20ft witha 40 hp it pushes it with 2 people 14 mph by GPS.a frind of mine has a 25 on a 18 and he said it is slow . the prop needs to be a 4 blade 10 in pitch . mine with a 3 blade ss 16 pitch goes like a snail . i would say it will git you there but slow.
what happen to the cylinder does it have compression and how much . if it does could be a clogged carb or a bad coil . you need gass compression and and fire .

Default 18 ft pontoon speed test

Well I tried the 25 hp on my 18 foot pontoon boat and you were right ! I got 14 mph with me by myself and 10 mph with the wife ,kid and gear. Also we had a storm come in on us while we were out with two foot waves and a 25 mp head wind and my speed dropped to 5 mph . So I am in the market for a 60 or 70 hp johnson if anyone has one they are willing to part with let me know .
