I worked a job between Tifton and Valdosta and you'd see those things dead all over the road, some of them as big around as your forearm! What a nasty bite that would be!

It is that time of year, I usually see more of them from late August through october than any other time. Found one in December one time deer hunting, small snake but had 15 rattles. Killed four last year, but thank God I haven't seen any this year yet. Southeast Ga. has plenty of them.

I killed a 6 ft. one a few years ago while I was turkey hunting. I was a step and a half from stepping right in the middle of it while it was coiled up. It never did rattle, and I was looking down this really open ridge while I was walking and just happened to look at the ground right before I stepped on it. It was bigger around than my forearm.
