Default New Business Now Open On Lake Blackshear

Rad'z Smokehouse and Grill is now open on Lake Blackshear. This business is located on the west end of Hwy 280 bridge on the water. Alot of the locals know this area as Anchored Flint. Randy Darsey and his wife Frederica have opened this business up now but are still getting things set up. They will be handling live and artificial bait such as jigs, minnows, worms and crickets. They also have gas and you can drive your boat up to the dock and get your gas and oiul. Randy told me that they will be competitive with their prices. Also they will be having a full menu very soon. We finally have a place that is on the water that will be open for the fishermen. Randy told me that the hours now are from 6am to 6pm. Hey ya'll lets please give Randy and Frederica our business.

Rusty,Are they going to have a boat landing there? It would be nice to put your boat in the water and get everything else you need all in one stop. I will definitly give them some business so long as they are competitive in prices.

    Default Rad'z

Stopped in to see Randy and Frederica on 020710. Very nice people and the food is great. Rusty, he wanted some input as to the types of jigs that C.C members would want him to have in stock. I told him that you are the "Jigman" and would gladly offer any input. He also said that he would be opening earlier when the spawn gets going. Said he will have plenty of minnows on hand for slabfest. (.99 dozen) We stayed at Dixie campground Saturday night with Polefisher and his wife and daughter. Wind was howling. We ate at Camper's Haven Sat night and had the steak and shrimp. The steak was huge (I mean Fred Flinstone huge) and would be well worth the drive if you are staying at the Vetrans Park. $12.99 and all the trimmings. I didn't post my fishing results cause I only caught 12 and brought home 5. Fished Swift Creek. Heavy stain, water temp started at 49 and went up to 55 by the end of the day. The main lake was as I expected MUDDY and moving. The water temp by the dam was four degrees cooler than the creek. Didn't see another boat until about one o'clock. It was a pretty day.... no rain and the wind died down. Maybe that is a sign of spring days ahead.
