    Default A Chrysler 45hp question

I have an older 45 hp chrysler outboard and I need to repace the coil packs in it. I am having troouble finding them. My question is can I use a normal 12 volt unregulated coil pack made for a car or can anyone point me in the right direction to find the proper coils for this motor. Thanks.

    Y'all have a Merry Chistmass.

Brimfisher, What year is your outboard?

Coil packs for 92 and later for 40/50HP Chryslers are available from Sierra Supply. They are a marine aftermarket company. You can order their parts from you local NAPA auto parts house.

Take care though, they make one for 92-95, but the 96 uses a different coil that they don't make.

If all else fails go here:http: //www.aomci.org/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?board=askamember and post the question. This site is the antique outboard club site. They will know. Think there is a man in Atlanta that collects Chrysler outboards. Any questions about parts or repair on older outboards are fair game.

My neighbor was telling me yesterday that if anybody wants his boat and trailer, they can have it free of charge. It's a 1970 (or there abouts) Chrysler with a 80 HP Chrysler outboard. It's been sitting up for a few years but I thought I'd mention it in case anybody's interested.
