    Default boat insurance

have a problem. can't get any. The storage place where I will store my boat requires insurance but the problem I have with insurance is it does not meet the min appraised value of 3000 dollars to get it. have called all the insurance companys that I deal with plus another one and they all say the same thing. has anyone had this problem?

I have mine with Allstate, but I don't have the minimum value problem you have.
I'd suggest checking with your homeowners policy to see if you can put a rider on it for the boat.
Another thing would be to ask the place where you are storing it if they have a suggestion as to how to obtain insurance on the boat, and explain your problem. Perhaps they offer some type of policy, or maybe they've encountered this with other space renters.
    Good luck.

Mount one HB 1197 on the console and that problem will go away.

    Default done it

have done the exact things you just said. have called other storage places as well and it is the same or they are ski high. I thought you could insure about anything, I guess I was wrong. I guess it will give me a kick in the pants to get rid of one boat and finish me pole shed.

What about Progressive? My agent for care insurance handled mine.

the problem that im running into is not that they want cover it but it [in their eyes] does not appraise at a high enough $ value to right a full coverage policy sence it will not be at my house. It has to be covered full coverage because it is not at my house if that makes sence.

Do you need a full coverage policy? I would think a storage facility would only require liability for damages. They could probably care less if you don't get reimbursed for the boat. I have my insurance with BoatUS. Do a search and give them a call.

found some through progressive. The thing about it is that two different agents called me back that were autherised prrogressive dealers with two different quotes on the same boat and the difference was 35 dollars a year. To answer your question shellback is the facility is only responciable for things like a cave in of the roof or fire. It does not cover theft of any kind. thanks for the help guys.
