Welcome from Toledo Bend Texas :fish

Thanks everyone for all the nice welcome messages! I'm a country boy from upstate NY who spent his summers in the Adirondacks where crappie (if/when caught) were fish kids caught. I lived on trout (tied my own flies & made rods, too), bass & walleyes with my dad. Now that I'm an old disabled vet in SC, I'm going to see if I can learn how to catch crappie :pray in the hot summer heat. I got a boat that I'm getting fixed up, a crappie tackle bag with a lot of stuff I've read about here, and a couple light spinning rods. It looks like I might get started by August ... easiest time of year for these guys, right?rotfl

Glad you’re here Ernie. There are a good group of guys that get together and fish in SC. Should be a night fish meet up this month if you would like to go and sounds like something you’d enjoy.
