Hello all
First post. I found the site while doing a web search regarding taxidermy. Born (a long time ago) and raised in Memphis. I’ve lived here my whole life, except for nine years in the Olive Branch, MS area, but that’s so close it hardly counts as a move.
I got bitten by the fishing bug early, as my father took the family to Dauphin Island, AL twice each summer where we trolled for whatever would bite, which was usually Spanish and King Mackerel, but we’d hook all kinds of fish, and it was always a blast. Those were the carefree years of my life (‘60’s and ‘70’s) and I cherish the memories.
Throughout the 1980’s, I spent every available weekend and vacations on Pickwick Lake, mostly in the Bear Creek area, tossing crank baits and spinners for bass. While I listed my home lake as Sardis, mostly because that’s the closest big lake to me, and where I had most of my crappie success, my heart is still at Pickwick.
About 1990, life got busy with a four letter word called ‘work’, and honestly hasn’t let up since, so serious fishing and me haven’t been partners for a long, long time. I recently dug all my tackle out and discovered quite a cobwebbed covered arsenal, but the newest things I have were purchased during the Reagan administration.
As life’s pace hopefully begins to slow some, I’m looking forward to getting more involved in my once favored hobby. Looking forward to getting better acquainted with the forum and all of you good people.
Cheers,
Mr. Phish
