    Thanks! Happy to be here. I've lurked some, but decided to jump in.

    Here's some about me;

    My name is Jim. I'm 56, married, live in central North Carolina. I've started fishing when I was 2 or 3 years old and have been addicted since. I still work to live and to support my hunting & fishing habits. I primarily crappie fish from my kayak, though I do bass fish ponds from the bank now & then. I used to guide fishermen/women, do some tournament bass & crappie fishing, and worked in the sporting industry many years before I had a wife (read responsibility). I sold my bass boat several years ago and have been fishing from a kayak for 4 years exclusively. I have co-owned a small business for 25 years which keeps me too close to home at times. My wife is an equestrian eventer in her spare time and she competes in 5 surrounding states. Whoever said that a boat is a hole in the water that you pour money into, never owned a horse. My wife used to give me a hard time about my fishing & hunting expenditures, but she knows better than to even go there with me anymore.

    I turkey and deer hunt when I can. Turkeys pretty much own me and they squeeze a little tighter every year. If a gobbler sounding off inside of 100 yards from you doesn't make the hairs on your neck stand up, you need to have your heart checked.

    We save up to take a couple of tropical scuba diving trips each a year. I have about 1,200 hours underwater diving experience and I've had more than my share of discovery channel moments right before my eyes. I have also learned a lot about fish behavior and habitat from getting to spend a lot of time diving around them. I also learned that we humans are not at the top of the food chain when we get in the water. Sharks rule.

    I have been fishing most of my life and I'm willing to share some techniques that work for me. I'm not too old or stubborn to learn from somebody else. I have been fishing too long to be bad at it and I know that nothing works every time, but I also know what works often.

    Jim
