Hi y'all. Newbie from near Montgomery, AL. New to fishing.

I'm a disabled vet that the VA doesn't allow to work any more and I've been going crazier for something to do. Haven't fished since I was a kid. I've got a lot of nearby places to fish, no boat, so my primary prey will be bream lr whatever I cam bank fish. Apparently there's a lot of great places to explore nearby. Wife mentione her cousin has a pond abiut 1/2 mile from me, plus the Coosa, Jackson Lake, Walter Bouldin dam, Lake Jordan, Lay Lake.

Hear to learn as much as I can. I caught bream as a kid with a cane pole and wads of bread. While I am a little nostalgic for that time, I would rather kinda step up to a few cheap wallyworld spinning combos and some lures. Kinda plan on running 1 rod with natural bait while I sling a lure with the other.

Got a few hobbies. It's my 2nd year of gardening, this year our garden is about 10k square feet. I've been a bladesmith for years. Been doing a lot of kydex sheaths and some leather for 2 friends that make knives. Have a degree in machining, about to start school for massage therapy (wife has fibro.) Couple of adult kids, 2 cats, a dog and a lot of spare time.

That's all I can think of as I wait for the coffee to kick in.
