Default Question about crappie spawn on clear deep lake with lots of vegetation

I routinely fish Big Creek Lake in Mobile County AL. I fished it for the first time last April (which was pre spawn) and have averaged at least once a week on the lake since. I have figured out where to find crappie throughout the summer fall and winter, but since I have not fished it prespawn or spawn, I have several questions:

    1. The lake is ultra clear and vegetation grows from the banks out to at least 15ft deep around the entire lake. The lake has depths of 50ft in the creek bed. My question is...do crappie spawn in vegetation that shallow or would I expect to find them spawning in deeper water that has a sandy bottom?

    2. Do the crappie spawn on bare flats or typically on structure on the flats?

    3. Are they more likely to spawn in the main lake structure or structure in creeks?

Thanks for any general info you can give.
