Hello from Kansas!

Hi everyone,

I just thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself as I just joined this morning. Thanks for having me!

I live in Kansas and just bought an Ocean Kayak Trident 13 Angler a couple of weeks ago that is now my fishing platform. I'd been tired of always sitting on the shore and I've wanted a kayak for a few years, so I pulled the trigger. I've had it out on my inlaw's pond once for testing, and out on an ~8000 acre lake twice now. I love it!

I tried for Crappie both times I was out, but I got shutout (pretty windy, too). I'm learning to use a fish finder for the first time as well (Lowrance X-4 Pro) so I'm spending a lot of time learning how to identify structure, etc.

I'm married and have two young kids (7 & 4). I like to play hockey, though I've benched myself as my wrist is injured at the moment, and used to shoot rather often.

Anyway, from brief reading this morning, this looks to be a really nice forum. Hope I can contribute at some point, but I'm guessing I'll be more of a sponge in the beginning, ha!

Where in KS are you? I lived in St. George just outside of Manhatten for 12 years.

Still a bunch of friends out there. Tuttle Creek was a good spot, as well as Potawatomi County Lake No. 1
