Default Hello all,,,,,Newbe from Ca/AZ and the Colorado River

Well hello all, My name is Dale, grew up and live in SoCal and do my fishing out on and near the Colorado River and its back waters about 250 miles away and and try to make the trip twice a month,,,
Its got to been over 40 years since I probably have even caught a crappie... Use to go with my Grandfather back in the early sixty's out to Lake Havasu on the Colorado River to do some catfishing and always did some crappie fishing in the spring off the lite up dock at night and getting stringers full of big slabs,,, sure is different place now days, not much of even a chance for a crappie,,, spent my whole life fishing up down the lower river of nearly 200 miles but always for cats, the last 10 for the flatheads down on the lower stretches of the river, not much of any crappie in the lower stretches ,,..

Now then In the last year I bought a place out near the river In Topock AZ which is adjacent to the 5000 acre Topock Marsh which is full of crappie and some nice channel cats,(AZ channel cat record came out of the Marsh) the cats i have down but the crappie have not been as easy,,, 90% of the marsh 2 to 3 foot deep and full of tree stumps,, so I'm here to learn, much like I have done on the catfish site I have been on for the last ten years, never knew a thing about a flathead catfish until I joined and now I have got many a flat over 30 with the biggest being 52, so hope it works as well here,,

Well thanks folks for the welcome,,, been and will be doing more reading around here then posting for at lest for now, can't learn anything running your mouth the way I look at it, I'll add what I can when I can, and may ask some dumb no stupid questions so hope ya don't take me for a lurker.. Just got say my 1st love is being on the river fishing for the mighty Flathead cat, but I know the crappie will be a lot of fun also especially when the flats hide out for the winter , going to need and down size everything I got including the boat to fish for some slabs on the marsh,, My river catfishing boat is 20' North River Mariner powered by 150hp outboard jet, just way to big for the shallow marsh, she will run 6'' to 8'' of water 25mph but standing still drifting 12"+,, anyways here I am running my mouth,, going to post up a few pics of a flat or 2, my boat , and some from the mighty(wimpy) Colorado River,, just mite be able to use them in future post down the road
    Thanks again
