I quit fishing for years, my native state is Ohio but I was lucky in m y youth to travel. I lived in Calif for 4 years and got the fishing bug bad. Got use to catching Yellowtail, Grouper, Shark etc. Came back to Ohio and the fishing urge was no longer there for many years if it didn't weigh 20 plus lbs it wasn't worth fooling with.

So I sat along the sidelines forever before I finally caved in. Start up costs were expensive, research was time consuming but I am getting there. I don't have a boat but in my dreams I do, an fair well with it. I just want to catch fish, I don't care if it is crappie, saugeye, bass or cats I am geared for all of the above. But now that it is so warm what is my best approach, what should I look for so I can enjoy a decent fishing experience? Remember I have to fish from shore as my choices are limited.

Freshwater fishing and saltwater fishing are two different worlds. Saltwater I knew I would catch fish but freshwater I feel the fish just hate my bait. There seems to be so much more preparation for freshwater and I just can't seem to remember it all. I am either extremely ugly or the fish are so damn smart. I do live in Delaware Ohio so I am fortunate to live near Delaware lake as well as Alum Creek so it's not like I don't have some very good choices.
