Thanks fellas! I live in NE Kansas near Lake Perry. I have a small ranch and a lab named Brandy, she is 10 months old and has been doing a bang up job retrieving ducks for me this season. Here is a pic of her, this was yesterday-

And it was funny to see her walking across the ice to fetch me this duck. She has some traction problems, those big feet were made to swim with, not ice skate

I am really into hunting. I bought a 16" jon boat with the idea that I could make a duck boat/blind out of it and do some recreational fishing with it in the off season; I am 10 minutes from the boat ramp.

The boat needs a lot of work but I feel pretty good about getting it going this spring. I made Brandy sit in it so she would get used to the idea-

I have done a lot of hunting, and a little bit of fishing. I joined here to become better at it, I have never done all that well. But here are a few pics of what I have done, fishing wise.

Last year in Manitoba bear hunting, these guys caught these 2 fish

And here is what I caught.

I did shoot a bear, so it worked out ok.

I caught these a couple of years ago in MO

And I have caught a few trout in the mountains. I wouldn't call myself a begginer, but I am a novice to be sure. What I like about crappie is I can catch them on minnows or jigs and am able to hold them and take the hook out....and believe it or not, I normally release the fish I catch. I am not that big on eating them, but I do like to catch them.

I hope to learn more about fishing and boating from you all.

    Thanks for the warm welcome.
