New to forum

Hi all! New to the forum, but only because I've been stationed in places with no crappies for a while. Good to find the forum and pick up new tips on crappie fishing. I just moved, courtesy of the USAF, to Bossier City, LA and am looking to figure out the where, when, and how of fishing here. I find that, on my own, it takes about 2 years to really figure out a new area and the methods used unless I spend a ton of money on guides. Of course, with the AF moving me every 2-3 years to a new place, I usually end up starting all over about the time I'm getting the last place figured out...
