Hey guys! I'm new to the sight, been hunting and fishing all my life! I haven't fished for crappie in about 20 years.
My Granddad and Dad fished exclusively for crappie and really didn't do anything else but work. I have to say that the main reason I haven't crappie fished in a while is because my dad passed 20 years ago and my granddad passed about 18.
it's still hard for my to go out on the lake with out them. However now I'm a dad and my son also loves to hunt and fish.
so to make a long story short , I started telling my son about all the good times I had crappie fishing with my folks so he's talked me into buying a boat and trying to carry on the tradition. I'm a bit rusty and have forgotten more than I could remember so any pointers and tips will be greatly appreciated. We live in Macon Ga. And will be fishing Oconee, Sinclair, Juliette, Jackson, Blachsher and Westpoint. We are eager to get started and plan on trying to catch some this summer and get a head start on learning the lakes. I really like the sight and it is full of some great information .
Thank
chad
:welcometo the site and hope you have some great success catchin' crappies.
I'm a new guy here, but not to fishing. I live in south central PA, York to be exact. I'm a seasoned fly fisherman fishing most of the trout streams and lakes close to me.
The two closest lakes to me are Pinchot and Marburg. Both are packed with crappie and 'gills. I've come to love Crappie fishing the best. Both of these lakes fish well all year long. I like catchin' Crappie when the snow is falling!
I've been tying flies for years, so I tie some pretty neat crappie jigs. I also have great success with soft plastic and Gulp Alive.
This is a neat site! Anyone else fish in central PA?
Welcome aboard
I fish Arkabutla, Sardis, and Enid (in that order). Arkabutla's my home lake. These lakes including Grenada are the greatest crappie lakes in the world. I fish for crappie and catfish. I love everything about fishing and I love talking with other fisherman. I've known about this site for a while and finally decided to check it out. So far it has been an enjoyable experience.
For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. John 3:17
Hello all from the gin clear waters of Lake Tuscaloosa. I've crappie fished very little the last 20 years due to work and family and I'm glad to be back. The majority of my fishing last 20 years has been been limited to chasing over feed, under fished pond bass, which is not bad. I bow and duck hunt when time allows and I've been privaliged to be involved with the BDAF and taking disable hunters deer since before it's inception.
Take a kid hunting and fishing will be my sig post when I get around to setting up my profile.
Hey guys, I'm a new member here. Just got into crappie fishing last year with my in-laws and now as you can imagine I have the fever. Rods, gear, bubble box, and now I'm looking for a boat! The best part is, she can't leave me because it's her own family's fault! haha.
Hello to all....just joined today. Really glad I did. I truly enjoy the info in the fly/jig tiers for beginners....a lot of good info in there. Thanks to all who contribute...I will probably be asking plenty of questions when I get started. once again thank you.
