Redear on fly rod

My first redear on a fly rod. Cuaght it on KY Lake on Tuesday shorefishing. I made these bead heads with yarn I scraped with a razor and used for dubbing. I only made one of each so when I lost them that was it. Cuaght the red ear on a purple with a chart. collar it workrd pretty good, have to make more of those. The red one worked pretty good to but the red on the bead didn't last to long. Wound up with around 8 redear and a bunch of nice gills with these. I had a blast.

Very nice fish. They are so fun on the fly rod!

I don't really target redears much, but I've heard scud imitations are a great pattern for them.

Congrats on the catch. The flies look good. Catching any fish on the flyrod is a load of fun. The Gold Ribbed Hairs Ear is another good fly for bream.

Thanks, cuaght a few crappie too, but nothing to brag about.
