Default Off the Dock at Lake Monroe Park

I took my 90 year old dad fishing from the dock at Lake Monroe Park this morning and he landed a nice one and then a lady fishing down from us landed a true slab. I don't know her name but she allowed me to to take a pic of her and her fish. She and her daughter had not been fishing for longer than she could remember, so they bought some minnows two R&R, and some plastic bobbers and headed for the water. I think she would have won the BIG FISH in about any tournament. Maybe we might do better without a boat at the April Slabfest. Just thought I would share my great day watching the joy on my dad and the ladies faces. Take the kids fishing, but don't forget to take the older ones too.

My dad and grandfather started me out fishing when I was very young, and got me hooked. Took my kids till they grew up, married, and had kids. My grandfather has long passed away, but I never miss a chance to re-pay my dad and take him out on the water. Some of the best memories I have is on the water with him. That old fart can still put a mess of fish in the boat !!!

Thanks for sharing. I too wish my dad was alive and I could repay him for teaching me to fish.

That picture of your granddad is "PRICELES"
