Was you fishing the river or lakes off the river. Used to have good luck in Riverside, the ole Gay Lake area or Look and Tremble. Thats been several years ago, 4 or 5,. Now in Il. 14 degrees this morning with about 7 inchs of snow on the ground. You fish and I will stay warm.....

    Default Bristow Lake

Big and many Shellcracker in Bristow. Working on the well at upper end 12 or 15 years ago when Mose Baldree came out with an ice chest full of some of the biggest I have ever seen. Had to help him load the chest. Could drive in then. Down the long red clay gravel road at almost the top of the Jay hill. Then the hunting clubs took over. Ain't Cambell's right close...

Hey ya'll. I am in McDavid and was glad to see that someone posted some info on the area. I am still fairly new to the fishing here in the Panhandle and am trying to get a feel for the fishing on the river and the old cutoff lakes and such. Thanks for posting and I hope to hear from you if you are willing to share the knowledge.

Went to Post and Bend myself, Caught a few but threw them back. There was too much wind to be able to fish. Not to mention too much cold. Caught a lot of small fish, though.

    Thumbs up River

    Hi Guys
Had to go to Opp, Andalusia and Brewton last Wednesday ... came back thru Century, Jay.. Crestview and etc.

The old Conechu (or is the name changed to Escambia at the hwy 2 bridge ?) looked good when I crossed it ...

down river from Sandy Landing ( Mineral Springs ) on the Escambia side. At least my family has always called it Post and Bend. Could actually be named something else. Fished there for years. Camped there as a kid. Not to many bends down from the landing.
