Hey y'all- Due to the "seed" that was planted on Saturday at our first slabfest on Monroe, my plans of fishing at my local lake(5 minute travel) changed to the 75 mile trip back to Monroe(this re-think was done at 5 am on Sunday morning due to the exceptional weather forecast). I thought this was truly a viable/logical rethink compared to the Talquin "seed" that was planted at the Georgia slabfest(240 mile jaunt!!)
I(by myself) started the day at the spot that Sherry and I did the best on Saturday(last spot we fished actually) and was rewarded within 2 minutes with the "prize" for the day-a 15" 2lb2oz slab I caught trolling a 1/16 oz curly-tail in 16 foot of water(fish was suspended). The day was truly one of the more memorable fish-catchin' days I have had! Easily boated 50 fish and culled through my 25 fish limit throughout the day! Slow-trolling 8 rods w/1/16 oz. unweighted curly-tails from .7 - .9 mph was the key! This was only my 3rd trip to Monroe(counting the Fest) and needless to say is on my hit list for the Future. I am sending a picture from my cell phone camera of the cooler full to the "Post your picture from your phone camera" Forum on this website. Sorry for any inconvenience for this but I hope you'll enjoy seein' em as much as I had catching 'em!(Probably not possible though).- Really, quality slabs at this place.:D
