Spelling probbly isn't right! I have only lived here 4 yrs so I have to check the sp of a lot of the lakes.I am so EXCITED! Stopped at bait/tackle shop fri on the way home from Doctor's visit. Basswater tackle shop and got to meet Neal Bedford, guide, and some other really interesting people. I saw a tv show on lake p a few weeks back that Neal was in about fishing for crappie on lake p. His fee sounds reasonable to me and when I explained that I did not know the lake, he said he would give me a tour and show me the boat ramps that he considered safe. Some of the state launches are not very good. Long story short. I am going to book with him soon and I can't hardly sleep. Finally figured out my boat motor, it is missing a few teeth on one of the gears, so it won't be long and I will be able to use my own boat but this trip with Neal should teach me enough so that I can go on my own. Also the crappie fest looked like it was a huge sucscess. Maybe I will be able to attend the next one. It is going to be a GREAT year. Sorry if I broke any of the rules by mentioning names or business.

Yes, I will definitely submit a post on how we make out. I was a little disappointed that the one guy I was counting on to go with me thinks it is a little steep a price to pay. If I have to I will go by myself. The wife has already agreed that the information that I get will help me learn the lake a whole lot quicker. I am going to Ocala this week to buy a fishfinder for my boat. If I don't go next monday I will definitely go the folowing mon. Got my boat motor back from the shop today. They ended up putting a used lower unit on it since it was $80 just to replace the gear that had gone bad. Even with it being cold tomorrow I will go for a maiden boat ride, might fish just a little on little Henderson. I have lots more to do on my project boat but it will have to wait til summer when it gets to hot to fish. I might even try to post some pictures of the trip if the guide agrees. Life is good when we don't have to shovel snow!!!

use to have an rv at pana vista lodge a few years back,its on the outlet canel.I never did do too good on specks but its an awsome shellcracker lake and the red breast in the outlet was good too

Lake Pan is probably best known for it's shellcrackers. I've done a little bass fishing on the lake with success. I also have duck hunted it a bit. The main trouble you might have is the hydrilla. I haven't been on the lake in a while, but it was infested when I was there. The guide trip will be worth the money if he can show you how to navigate the lake.

Its been a little windy lately on Lake Pan but everything was biting nicely just before the first cold front came through. A week later, nothing, nada. I let my jig drop to the bottom while I grabbed a coke and a dadgum mudder hit it. The minnow was done in, but I have never had a mudfish hit a jig before. Anyway, Lake Pan is like a fickle woman, but I love it. They have done a lot of dredging and cleaned up quite a bit of the grass and hydrilla. Still need to keep your eye on your depth finder though.
