    Default some last minute advice for crescent?

    The wife and I gonna hit crescent tomorrow and try to get some for dinner.

    I'm fairly comfortable with my technique (I'm new at crappie fishing) using jig/minnows under floats.

    Never been to crescent. Any advice on what type of water depths to look for them in, or any other tips?

    Thanks! Look forward to posting my report.

    Sirmo

    Good luck;
    Remember, it ain't the catchin that counts, it's the fishin that gives the reward.

    Sirmo, unless you have a chartplotter with map onboard your boat, the best advise I can give you is to get a map of the lake and study it good. Cresent lake is pretty big. Last week when I was down there, they were catching fish all over, but that was before a weak front pushed thru. Depending on how many poles you are fishing with, try varying the depths of your floats, and different color jigs. Let The fish show you the pattern they like.

    Good Luck and let us know how you did.

    Did not go to crescent, and from the looks of the other post...I sure wish I did.

    I opted for below the rodman dam/oklawaha to combine some sight seeing with the lady and didn't catch one in the couple hours we tried.

    Spoke with another angler who also had not done anything. So we opted to sight see and was able to be a good samaritan and tow a broken down fisherman to safety. I was probably the last boat to pass him for the evening.

    Better luck next time. and next time I stick to my plans!

    just spent a week at crescent. stayed at hide away cove. mrt a lot of really nice people that were more than happy to help with advice. caught several limits of 1lb to 2.25lb specs.some were under bobbers but most came either tight lining or flat lining hal-flys or pop-eye jigs.most fish were 5 to 9 ft deep and best color on jigs was either yellow or bubblegum. best of luck to you
