Good thought ... Thru the Years Talquin has had some "Draw Downs" and these draw downs start the lake thru a new cycle .. one year they planted a lot of "Edge Grass" and for a while there was a big change in the fishing ... How much pressure can the crappie fishing on Talquin Take ?? Who knows ... The Bass & Brim Fishing has been questioned before but it hangs right in there ... By the way the Blue Gill fishing is way above average, people around here are subject to doing a lot of Night Fly Fishing over there and they really do good with "Big Bream" ... The Ochlocknee (SP) River system has some great fishing ... That from below the dam to the Bay turns out some big fish.

Me and rawhide made a pull about 3/4 of the way through the crowd and followed y'all up-river! I got one nice one there in the crowd though, and one right when we go to Williams.
Then we ran back to Belle Lake and it was downhill from there on.
I'd heard that about the crappie at Talquin already having spawned one time before they reach 10" but with the increase in pressure how many are never going to spawn a second time now that would have with "normal" fishing pressure???? It's bad when you are fishing out in the middle of the lake and you still have to leave because it's too crowded to enjoy it.....
With this pressure they need to up the limit size to 12". Oh boy.....slab heaven!:D
When the fog rose monday around 11:00 there were 14 boats on the flats. Neery a one were catching many fish and I did'nt hurt them any. I burned a lot of gas monday looking for fish and could'nt mark them anywhere. Some of the regulars been looking to no avail. All the pros are showing up for the turney his weekend maybe they hunt em down, ...... I have always felt a lake full of big stirppers do more damage to the specks than anything. They eat up crappie all year. We all need to have have a stirpper catch (most fish wins and we throw back nothing) They're easy to catch I know , they mire me up at least twice a trip................. Oh yeah If we could keep TNT from pulling those shirmp nets under his boat that might help the fishier.....
Ok we can put a ban on TnT and have huge striper round up there and Blackshear, now, how do catch those stinkin things?
stripers or rockfish, hybrids, that is what they are called here in east tenn, they eat crappie ,bass, and blue gill we used to catch them up to 30 lbs at night on live huge bluegill they should have never been introduced to our lakes my theory on fishing is they are just like women,if you ever figure them out you will be a millionare
TNT....you need to tell the truth.....every time I saw you.....you were headed to Polk Creek????
