Guys. please read my posy carefully. FWC knows it's there. They were informed in 95 when we hit it at 80 + mph. I have sent e-mails to them regarding this. I cannot tell you if it is a stump or log. I will say this. My brother and I tied a rope on that thing in 96 and could not do any movement with a 2.5 offshore racing motor to boot. I don't own a 12' bar chain saw. That is what it is going to take to get it out of the way. It's a black water lake. You can only see so far down. However, I have taken a 10' metal rod and felt around the beast. It appears to be a very large offshoot of a super tree. I cannot completely be for sure, but that is what it feels like by the pole. I am going to get in contact with a friend of mine who works for the FWC and see what it will take to get the projectile removed. I hate to say this, and some may not like what I have to say, but if you know it's there. you'll be careful and watch for it. Yes, I would like to see it removed, but I am just trying to help out new people that are not familiar with the area. I look at it this way, the first time I ran rodman, I hit more stumps and logs than you could imagine. Did FWC do anything about that??? NOOO.....
And they may never fix it. I will say this though, this log/stump would not be so bad if it was all the way to one side of the channel or the other, but it's almost in the middle of everything of 3 channnels. I'll do my part to help get rid of it if some of you guys complain too. Squeaky wheel get's the grease. I just don't want to see anyone hurt. I have a bad back and offset shoulder just from hitting a floater in lake george at 80+. We did not see it because of chop in the water. This one is stationary, so it should be able to be trimmed down at least.

Man,I tell ya if people would just leave the markers you guys put out there it wouldn't be a problem,I don't know what motivates people to do away with them. Maybe they could chain a danger bouy to it or something.

Guys, does anyone NOT fish with a GPS unit aboard nowadays?
What are the coordinates for the log?

I have not been down to the lake since my last post about the log. I will be down there this weekend, and get the coordinate from my chartplotter. Don't think I'll get much fishing done though. If its 25 degrees this candya$$ is staying off the lake. Been there Done That !!!!

OK guys, I did it myself.
We fished Crescent today (report in another thread).
Here is not only the GPS coordinates, but a photo of the log. It has a marker on it now by the way. How long it will stay is anyone's guess.
GPS location in decimal degrees:
N 29.39627
W 081.43741
The thing is VERY close to the surface and is invisible in a chop.

Guys I have some Flags from the Golf Course that we were going to through away. I kept them for things like this and actually brought 3 back to school with me from Christmas break. If someone wants(and I may if I go fish there but I dont even know where the lake is) I will give yall one to put on it. Its a reg flag and stick we use on the greens. Im in Lake City so if anyone wants it jsut let me know
