Hey Flycaster, Been down at Talquin for the past few days and been away from the computer. It does not look like I will be attending Slabfest. I was at Talquin for 4 days last week, going back for 5 days this week and back down there for 3 days next week...My wife has been OK with this so far, but I don't dare push my luckYou guys will have alot of fun and I hope to be able to attend the next one down in FL...Either way, I am really wanting to get to Lake Monroe to try my luck.

I'm looking to try crappie fishing for my first time in Lake Monroe. Does anyone have suggested locations to start? I personally enjoy trolling with lures ..I've had decent success with that combination in a small lake in Deland (North Lake Talmadge)

My buddy and I would like to start learning and fishing Lake Monroe, along with the Harris Chain of Lakes.

If anyone can suggest areas to start the fishing/trolling for crappie ..it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Chris Bany

    Slow your roll there Phantom!!!

This is my first slabfest but lets talk a little rules first. Are we going for the largest 5 or 7? and from what time to what time is the fishing going to happen? and what has happened to tjj? I might call him in out of the bullpen.

    Chris:
Come out on Jan 17, 2009 at Monroe to join us in a day of fishing and eating. Check in the thread named THE RESULTS ARE IN and let us know what you can provide for the picnic.

I wish I could join on Jan 17th. Unfortunately I have prior commitments. If this is something you regularly ...I sure I hope I can join a slabfest in the future.

    Thanks.
