    Default Lake ???- Thursday

Got out early and headed to a spot I've been wanting to get to for quite some time.
Been watching the weather forcast for awhile and finally it said this morning was the morning.
Had a fellow gonna go but, turned out to be a no-show, too bad.
Was a beautiful morning, glass slick, moderate fog, temps just right.
Started pullin em in as soon as I put a line out. I averaged bout one every 15 minutes, in other words I got 16 pretty good specks in four hours. Not too shabby.
And I was all by myself, Ha, got to keep all of em ! !
Here's some pics (not too good of the fish)....(Can ya tell, I been workin out)

Nice catch. And cool to see you are mastering the art of trolling. Looks great! I have been mostly Tournament fishing this year and haven't had the chance to visit Monroe. This is usally a good time of year to pull baits in and out of that channel close to the old power plant. Tighgt lines and keep your bait wet!

    Hi there Tim !
Was wondering what happened to several of you guys that were here last year but are absent this year.
Yep, Lake Monroe, me and about twenty other boats were tearin em up over there.
What I had was, four poles on the front running Chartuese tube jigs, only bout 2-3 ft under the water, Out the back were four poles with minnows and corks set to about six feet but with the troll they probably came up a bit more.
Was running right at .8mph, lost probably 6-8 on the minnows and a couple on jig poles, threw a couple dinks back.
Was doin good then decided to move over to east side of the lake where a buddy and I did almost fair a few weeks ago, got over there and only got two, so, shoulda stayed right where I was. Finally called it a day, headed for the hill, etc.....
Have gotten somewhat gun-shy about Lake Harney, can't remember the last time I got 16 fish in a day (by myself) over there (years), so, this year decided to try Monroe and see if I could change my luck, is only ten more miles down the road, etc...
I figure the minnows out caught the jigs by a little bit, but the jigs definitely got the bigger ones, and the minnows were a little deeper, So, were the bigger ones hanging shallower ? Guess I'll just have to go back and find out, might be back over there Sat or Sun. Will keep a lookout for that battleship of yours, it reminds me of a Scorpion fish with all it's fins stickin out LOL
Nice to see ya, keep comin back ...
