Got a wake up call sunday morning. Had to head into the ER and ended up with 3 stints. At least things went well and was home before lunch today. Was a bit of a set back on the fishin with the restrictions, but will be going after them as soon as I am told I can again.
That makes a couple of us on here that belong to the "Stint Club". Shu had 5 a few weeks ago and now me. Gotta tell yall to take care of yourself, cuz things like this sure eats into the time on the water.

A gun in hand is a lot better than a cop on the phone.
Whole proceedure is:
Make an incision in the groin area.
Run a line up to blockage in a artery in or on the heart that has a balloon on it and inflate the balloon to open the artery.
Pull that one out and go back in with one that has a metalic sleeve on the balloon which is blown up expanding the wire mesh to hold the artery open.
The rest is just a repeat of the same till all blockages are opened then the healing process begans where the initial incision was made.
That sound about right to you, Shu?
Will say that it will make you think about changes to your life style, but better than joining the zipper club from open heart.

That's the deal Dusty makes a person think about what's really important and how quick the routine things need to be done for you. Time to stop and smell the roses, Life is a blessing. Get well and let's go wet a line.--shu

I take my Lipitor meds every day and think the Lord I haven't had any trouble yet. Take care of yourself , tightlines buddy.
Appreciate all the comments and well wishes. Hardest thing for me right now is not doing anything. Nothing over 10 lbs, no driving till friday and so forth. Got tired of sitting this morning, got up and cut 2 pork butts into small chunks, spiced it up and ground sausage for an hour. Felt good to do something and did not push any envelope, to me anyway.
So at least got some fresh Jimmy Deans style sage/mild home made sausage. Best thing is since I do it, it is about 80% lean. So lots less fat and shrinkage.

Amen Dusty;
I'm 60 yrs old (61 after New Years = 1 more year till retire), and go to the gym every day I can, even after work.
Nope not in good shape, started out last year, messed up disc in back, hardly could walk for two months, have been back in gym a month and a half this time, am finally getting diet in gear, muscles doin great, got to lose this mid-drift.
Am down from 220lbs to 211.5 lbs since I discovered all I got to do is stop that dad-gummed snackin at night when i get up to take a leak.
I been taking sleeping pills (Equate-Sleep Aid Tablets) and by golly they work pretty well.
I hate that, where ya just lay there at night and can't drift off to sleep, and ya just lay there waiting, waiting, etc, etc..
Anyway, ain't had any problems with "Stints" and hope I don't. Don't have a clue as to indicators that can warn ya if any are comin (Are there any ?)
Take care fellows, eventually it's gonna get all of us. Best thing we can do is enjoy this life all we can without makin anything any worse, etc,,,
Merry Xmas to all of ya'll ! ! ! !
Danny

chest 'discomfort' after exertion that leaves with rest. exertion for me was walking outside and bending down to pick up the newspaper, my blood pressure spiked with any effort and i knew it was time to talk to a dr. any real exertion would have led to a real emergency.--shu

Number one....symptoms.....everyone is different. Trust me, if you have something happen like you see on TV, and live through it, your dang lucky. Become a minister, start your own church and give all your money to charity.
Most people believe that something like that has to happen, it don't. I woke up with some pressure like someone was pushing down on my central chest area. NO PAIN, just discomfort. By the time I got to the clinic, nothing. EKG and everything showed normal. That was wed. Sunday I got up to whiz about 5 a.m. and my chest felt like my back does after splitting and stacking a cord of wood. NO PAIN, just sore. Wife (which I am really lucky to say is an RN took my pressure (BP) and it was 160/110. "Time to go" is what she said. Did not even get short of breath till they were doing the in-processing computer work. Wheeled me in, took some blood and another EKG and said, "Young man, you just bought you a bed for the night." And the rest is history. Took 1 stint (12 mil) and 2 stints (8 mil) at a "Y" and now back to basically normal flow.
that is basically my story and everyone is different, but most of the time, there is NOT any real pain involved unless something is dreadfully wrong. Shoot, 2 weeks ago the wife and I climbed all the way to the top of Ponce Inlet light house and no problems. Go figure.
Oh well, will stop this novel. Just wanted to let you know, you don't have to be in "pain" to be in trouble. You will know that "something just isn't quite right".
