My fishing partner and I went to Kingsley Lake this morning. Our first trip there.

Kingsley is a deep (90 feet at the deepest spot) very clear lake. We could easily see our jigs while pushing them 12 to 14 feet down.

It is also the deadest lake I have ever seen in Florida. Not only did we get skunked (the first trip we have been skunked on since July), we saw hardly any fish on the depth finder and there was little to no surface activity at all.

Even the birds don't seem to bother with that lake. At Lochloosa we see bald eagles and ospreys all the time.... herons, egrets, etc. Not at Kingsley. Hardly any wildlife at all. Dead.

We fished until noon then left. We were told there were crappie there, but we sure couldn't find them.
