Another day (partial day actually) on Lochloosa.
This was the second worse day we have had on the lake in the last three months. We caught 20, kept 10.
Heavy fog at dawn followed by some pretty stiff wind. The fish are still scattered and covering lots of water is the only way to have a decent day the way fishing is at the moment.
We took our usual lunch break at Lochloosa Harbor marina and then went out for a very short time in the afternoon. We saw the storm coming in from the south over Orange Lake and headed for the barn. Got the boat loaded and ourselves in the truck just before the sky opened up. Then we realized we had not put on the last two transom straps. There's always Just One More Thing.
Last, as we backed my buddy's boat into his boat-port in his driveway, we noticed the left rear hub (he has duals) had disintegrated. Inner race and bearing was left, but the outer had actually broken off and was gone. Metal was too hot to touch. I know, I touched it.
More boat work this coming week.
