3 Killed in Boat Crash During MLF Event on Smith Lake: New Details.UPDATE April 18: The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (state police) has confirmed that professional angler Flint Davis, 22, was the operator of the Nitro Bass Boat involved in the crash on April 16 during a Major League Fishing tournament event on Lewis Smith Lake that claimed the lives of three men on a center console boat. Davis was injured in the crash and was transported to Cullman Regional Hospital for treatment. -----------I stay off my lake (talquin) on bass tournament day. The worst are the bass clubs/ non professionals. They all think they are kevin van damn, or whoever is big in the bass world nowadays. They run around full speed with little or no regard for the rest of us, esp. if I am anchored for catfish. There was a young boy killed here on Talquin, maybe 5 years ago when two boats collided. They were dragging for his body the next day when I went out crappie fishing. I was a bass club member for 2 years, but quit due to several members who were the types I describe.
