    Default busy day

I got up at 6am. Made a pot of coffee and hooked up the boat. Loaded some muffins and a few other thing. Was on my way by 7am. The truck said that it was 49 deg. out.

As I turned into the park for the ramp I saw two other trucks in front of me and another was pulling in behind me. As I made it through the lot I noticed that most of the parking spaces were taken already. It was 7:30 am. I got in line to wait my turn and staged the boat. Things went smoothly and before I new it I was sliding the boat off the trailer and into the water. As I tied the boat to the dock I looked up and saw Skeetbum in the ramp next to me. It was a good day already.

We moved out into the cove and took a moment to talk about where and how to fish this time. We headed out. Water temp was 53 deg. It was 8am.

As we got out into the lake we could see that it was a busy day on the water. I haven't seen this many boats out in a lone time.

Tim and I both headed to different points to try our luck. It didn't take long before I boated my fist fish, but he got to go back to grow some more. The next on was much better, he went into the live well.

Tim and I check with each other and met up two or three times to compare notes, on one of those meeting I gave him some of Paula's muffins.

Around 11am I did a fish count and I had 10 good size fish in the box. More than I wanted to clean. I let the smaller ones go to grow a little more, keeping 6 slabs . I started to work my way back towards the ramp and noticed the trolling motor was dying early ( time for a new battery). but still bent the rods a few more times on the way in.

All in all it was a good day . I got to fish with a friend. I caught fish and kept enough for a couple of meals. The lake was beautiful. What more can a man ask for ?

Thanks Jim. A good recounting of what was also a long overdue very good day for me. Hopefully we’ll do it again soon, and tell Paula the muffins were great. I kept the second one for dessert after dinner.

IMHO , that’s all a man should ask for.
Glad you all got on the water.
