After seeing Speck Detectors post about the boat ramp at Lake Harney, I loaded up Paula and Molly and took a tour of the boat ramps in my area.

First stop was the Highbanks boat ramp on the St. Johns.

The ramp is still closed. Molly did her best to check it out. The docks are still under water. It is getting much better from the last time we were down here. But it's going to be awhile before it is useable. The docks are still under water.

Our next stop was at Lake Monroe Park. The park is now open and people can go in and even camp there. In fact there were people fishing off of the docks there . I asked how they were doing and got a big nada. nothing. But they were out fishing !

The boat ramp looked to be in good condition, but the water was still high and the ramps were closed.

I talked with a park employee and he told me that the ramp was closed by the sheriff department and it was up to them when they will open it up.

Next we headed across the river to Way Side Park in Sanford. The parking lost was the staging area for the work that is going to be done on the draw bridge. Soo we had lots of stuff in the area.

The ramp it self, Well, it looks like it will be some time before it will be open. I had a hard time seeing where the dock were.

From here we moved on around the lake to the Sanford Marina. The drive along the lake front was enjoyable. The city did a nice job of redoing the road along the lake. They even had parking areas along the road so that you could pull over and do some fishing. And there were quite a few people doing just that. We didn't stop to talk to any of them but it was a beautiful day to be out.

The Sanford Marina was a mess to get into. Lots of cars, and a lot of construction. But the ramp was open ! and being used.

The parking lot was a mess to get around in and was full.

The Enterprise ramp in Deltona is still closed due to construction and from what I am hearing is going to be closed for at least another year while they try to figure out what they are going to do over there.

In conclusion, from what I saw this morning, The water is still high but is coming down. Seminal County is opening up some of their ramps but Volusia County has not open theirs yet. It may be another week or two before that happens .
