Fishing Lake Jem near Mount Dora with average depth of 20ft with a 28’ hole

After Ian we had a cold front- caught 3 in 3 consecutive days. 2 were in 18 fow near same structure and other was in 8 fow in weeds. Thought it’s going to be a good season as it’s been several years since I got any in October!

Recent cold front- last Thursday got 1 in same 18 fow near structure. It’s been nearly a week and Fishing 2-3 times a day if not all day and not a nibble! Using minnows, jigs, road runners, dock shooting, fishing with 12’ pole in the weeds 4-8 fow, done a little drifting, mostly sniping and slip bobber at structure.

I can’t find them! Usually get bluegills and bass with the minnow setup but they too are scarce. What the heck??

Lake Jem is 11 acre private lake and in 2017 when I found out what a crappie was I literally could drift with a minnow at 15’ and catch 1 or double up in 60’ or less. I know we were coming off a drought so maybe that’s why so active at that time? Been dwindling ever since

Any ideas? Sure would like 1 or 2 more to justify a fish fry for lunch.

Thanks!
