goodies bag to the Easterly recipient named Pontoon Pappy.Made the 1 1/2 hour jaunt @dirt o'clock to welcome the absolutely beautiful East coast sunrise @expansive Lake Monroe. Water level was extremely low, heat level escalated rapidly, story-telling volleyed controllably
, but the keeper-sized crappie proved evasive.
Delivery duties were accomplished with Don sporting some new tackle/gear to include his finger-mounted fish clickers.
Black for caught/Green for kept!
Very convenient, unencumbered way to monitor your day's catching & creel limit totals. Wind conditions were perfect although the heat index confirmed the state's summer reputation. Had quite a few knockdowns amidst our 15 rod assortment that amazingly came unbuttoned even with razor-sharp sickle hooks.
The long-nose gar were aggravating us throughout the trip even allowing for the lure/knot-tying "refresher" moments!
Also, enjoyed some thick-shouldered, rod-arching stripers and mossbacks.
