    Default St John River Thieves

As I was headed out to the boat this morning I noticed a deputy in the campground and realized he was doing. A theft report for the neighbor
I wen to my boat and. Noticed Four combos and three boxes/beads missing. Rough guess of $1100 missing
    Acc Crappie stick 12 footer
2 BNM Sam Heaton 10 footers
Ugly stick carbon 6’10” medium light
3 cadence reels and a green lews Mach 200
two soft Plano bags one blue and one camo with various baits including bass assassin and pick jigs. Some jigs lead head and some custom painted

Also a soft bag of trout magnet plastics with jigs.

20 years of traveling like this and never has happened leaving boat in nearly vacant state parks and stuff In The boat in Illinois.

Dont. Want to be a downer but please keep an eye out for the stuff.

even if the people got arrested right now probably nothing would happen as I would have to come down for court which would most likely get continued repeatedly

The neighbor had five rods taken possibly bass pro brand rods

On positive note deputy was a really nice and interesting guy

Sorry to hear about your loss. That’s a small community, hopefully the SO can get early lead and recover your property.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.

What campground?/Lake?/Town?/ County? Need to know where to keep an eye out for your gear.

Was at Paramores camp in Astor a nice place and our second time here. Usually don’t keep boat in water at places. Like to park it next to camper at night to keep an eye on things
I luckily had extra stuff and thieves picked and chose what to take in boat leaving half the rods

I hate to here that, but now days its become more prevalent. My wife and I have fished St.Johns in the Aster area for 5 straight years, our first year we stayed at Palamores and the same thing happened, soon after we got there we noticed a policeman talking to people there, and found out the night before someone stole poles and tackle off of docked boats. Since then we now stay south of there and really enjoy our new fish camp.
