Another vote for Stu here. Good man and good fisherman. As I remember, those lakes are dark tanic stained and I would think that some bright colored bodies would be a good starting point. And while lakes in the same area might be close, some are way different. Keep trying different things and be patient, your time is coming if you do.
I have wondered for a long time why stu dont fish much in clermont chain nor do i hear much from the fisherman about clermont chain. Anybody know what goes on over there? stu??
The bass fishing has been decent from the trips i have made in last 6 months. Yamamoto senko worm in watermelon black has worked well even tho the water is very dark and tannic in most lakes. Crescent Lake is dark but not tannic and this is where I have my most success. Not a very sandy bottom from what I can see. Lots of hydrilla in most parts. Just don’t see a lot of speck fishing going on. I’m on the mend from carpal tunnel surgery so I recently have spent a lot of time looking at the lake from the back porch and i have only seen one or two people fishing for crappie.

After what you just said, you might just take a jig on a long rod and dip among the hydrilla pockets. Just have a pretty good line cuz lots of bass live there too. Crappie like being around something when they can, maybe hydrilla?
I had my thumb joint replaced and the carpal surgery at the same time. I made sure they did it in summer so pain gone by winter lolSent from my SM-N960U using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
Good luck with all the work you’re having done. We do what we have to do but we don’t have to like it.
Good luck friday. what d u do to cause carpal tunnel in both hands---wow!
I’m a fireman but I do a lot of work with my hands on days off as well. I’ve had issues with it for years. Im in the middle of a big renovation on the house and that’s what pushed it over the edge. Figured it was time to address the issue.
