Got up this morning and thought I would do something a little different. I packed the boat and headed out. But this time instead of heading to the lake, I took the turn and headed down to the river. I had picked up some small sunshine bass when I was out on the lake and was wondering if they were in the river yet. It might be a little early for them, but it was a nice day to take a look see.

I got to the ramp by 7am, and waited my turn to launch. There were 7 trailers in the lot already and more were still coming. I got on the water and headed out. It was a quiet run to my fishing hole . When I got there, I saw that there was already one boat on site. I moved over to the side some and set up.

The first stop was quiet so I moved on the my second stop. The sun was doing it's magic.

I let this monster go and set up again. It doesn't take long for the rod to do it's dance. Fish #2 comes on board.

I move on to spot #3, but this time I use the trolling motor and cast to the banks as I move my way up the river to my new spot. It pays off. I get a good solid hit. The rod bends. The fish makes a run. It breaks water and shakes its head ...and throws the hook.

I make it up to spot #3 but there was no action at all. Other boats are starting to show upon the river . I look at the time and call it a day.

I did not get any sunshine bass, but it was a bit early for them. There is always next time.

Until then,

tight lines and full nets for you

Jim
