Need help to find place to fish for specks near Sarasota

New member would like to find places near Sarasota to fish for specks or if a fishing guide available. I am a retired Coastie and like fishing . I do not have a boat but would be welling to pay for gas and boat launching fee. I do a lot of flats fishing for snook but would like fresh water better but just don't know where to go. Lake Manatee can produce some good fish. It has some deep water (for FL) 30+ feet. I like fishing under or near the bridge on Hwy 64. Not having a boat makes it a challenge. The lake has a 20hp max so it seems to keep a lot of folks from coming there. I see people fishing at night off the bridge at Gilly Creek but have never tried it for crappie. There's a fish camp near the bridge at Hwy 64 and I'm sure they can share some info.

Thank you for information will check Gilly Creek and Hwy 64. Do you know of any guides on Lake Manatee ? How about boat rental in area. I will drive to fish camp next week to check things out.
